Chef Nana Wilmot
Chef Nana Wilmot was born and raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She grew up a first-generation Ghanaian American and developed a passion for cooking from her grandmother, Georgina, whose favorite phrase was, “Did you eat yet?”
After graduating from the Art Institute of Philadelphia's Culinary Program, Nana worked in a number of Philly's most celebrated kitchens including TIME, Vintage Wine Bar and Bistro, Wolfgang Puck Catering, McCormick and Schmick’s, Fitler Dining Room, and award-winning Chef Jose Garces' restaurants Tinto, Village Whiskey, and Amada Philadelphia. Chef Garces brought Nana to New York City in 2016 to open Amada NYC as a lead cook.
With the passing of Gram Georgina, Nana traveled to Ghana to spend some time learning and cooking traditional foods. Upon her return stateside, she took a deep dive into French fine dining at Le Coucou (1 Michelin Star) where she quickly climbed the ranks during her three-year tenure. She now runs her own catering business, Georgina’s, in her hometown of Cherry Hill, as well as a West African-inspired supper club called Love That I Knead.
