CHEF ALFREDO RAVELO

Chef Alfredo Ravelo was born in Oaxaca, Mexico, and raised in Puebla, where time spent in the kitchen with his mother and grandmother—a private chef—sparked his love for cooking. Early visits to local mercados inspired a fascination with ingredients and flavor that would shape his career.

After graduating from UTP in Puebla, Chef Alfredo staged across Mexico before joining Pujol in Mexico City, one of the world’s leading restaurants (2 Michelin Stars). In 2012, he moved to the U.S., working first at Ocean’s Edge Resort in Cape Cod, then settling in New York City, where he’s spent over a decade cooking across a range of cuisines.

His New York career includes roles at Nori Nori, Snack Taverna, and as Sous Chef at Dovetail under John Fraser. He later helped open Sauvage in Williamsburg and joined Legacy Records in Hudson Yards. He also helped develop JetBlue’s first-class menu, which you can still find in-flight!

Chef Alfredo’s cuisine blends Mexican, French, Italian, and Mediterranean influences. Known for his playful approach, he finds joy in transforming simple ingredients into expressive, story-driven dishes that honor both his personal memories and creativity.
