FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Resident is a culinary platform that connects you with the face behind your food. Each of our events is a ‘chef’s table’-style dining experience where the chef designs and executes their own menu, and personally introduces each course.

  • Rather than a traditional restaurant, we host our events in luxury residential spaces around NYC. Current venues range from a penthouse in the Financial District to a lounge in Midtown West. The exact address of each dinner is shared after ticket purchase. Learn more about our current locations here.

  • We have a very strict 21+ policy.

  • Most Resident events typically open doors at 7:00 PM, with the first course being served at 7:15 PM.  Most events end at 10:00 PM.

  • Yes! You can book us for team dinners, holiday parties, board lunches, celebrations, and small-scale weddings. Learn more about our private events here or email us at hi@meetresident.com for more information.

  • Many events are a 5-course tasting menu with wine pairing. Some are cocktail parties, where there is an open bar and food stations, and guests help themselves to food and beverage. Tax and a 12% service charge are billed separately.

  • The ticket price includes a tip, so there’s no need to bring an additional tip to the event.

  • Yes, one of our sommeliers expertly pairs each dish and shares tasting notes with the group.

  • Our ticketed events range from 20-50 guests, depending on the venue.

  • Resident dinners are designed to be intimate and have limited availability. We are able to process full refunds 14 days before your event, and can offer to reschedule your reservation with at least 7 days' notice.

    Within one week of your event, we are unable to accommodate cancellation requests unless there is a 'force majeure', such as indoor dining restrictions being reinstated. The only request we would be able to accommodate is transferring the reservation to another guest.

  • Depending on the venue, you might be seated at a private table, the chef’s counter, or a communal table. If you wish to have a private table, would like to be seated with another party, or have any other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at reservations@meetresident.com. Please note that we will do our best to accommodate all seating requests, but we cannot guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled.

  • Each Resident meal is designed entirely by one of our Michelin-trained chefs. With chefs specializing in New-American, Chinese, Filipino, French, Italian, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Mexican, Nordic, Peruvian, and Venezuelan cuisines (and more!), you can expect something exciting and delicious, each evening.   • Each chef’s menu changes on an event-by-event basis. Get a sneak preview of the menu by clicking on the purchase link for the event you're interested in attending (menus are added at least 6 weeks ahead of each dinner).

  • We do accommodate all dietary restrictions and preferences. We kindly ask that you complete Tock’s allergen questionnaire over a week in advance to ensure Chef is able to accommodate for any dietary restrictions, allergies, and/or preferences you or your guest(s) may have.

  • We currently offer three non-alcoholic wines upon request, one sparkling, one white, and one red, and various soft beverages. Kindly alert our team at booking by emailing reservations@meetresident.com and we'll be sure to have non-alcoholic beverages on hand for the evening.

  • We do not allow outside beverages, but we have plenty of wine planned for the evening!

  • Yes! The Resident experience that you know and love is available in your own home. Get in touch here for more details.

  • Our dress code is smart casual, or what you would normally wear to a dinner party.

  • While we'd love to meet your pup, we can't allow dogs at our events due to restrictions in the residential buildings in which we operate. We do make exceptions for registered service animals!

  • We don't offer parking. If you need help find a space near our venue, email us at reservations@meetresident.com and we'll do our best to help.

  • At this time, Resident does not offer gift cards or gift certificates for our experiences. However, we are happy to help you book a specific dinner on behalf of your guest. To do so, please reach out to reservations@meetresident.com including “Event Gifting” in the subject line.

  • Please email us at reservations@meetresident.com, and we will let our events staff know. There will most likely be a candle in the dessert.
