CHEF LANA LAGOMARSINI
Lana Lagomarsini is a New York City–based chef with 15 years of experience in the culinary industry and a recent competitor as a semi-finalist on Bravo’s Top Chef Season 22: Destination Canada. Her work and perspective have been featured in outlets including The New York Times, Cherry Bombe, and other prominent publications. Lana’s passion for food began in high school and deepened throughout college, ultimately leading her to pursue it professionally. A graduate of Northeastern University and The Culinary Institute of America, she has built her career in the kitchens of acclaimed restaurants such as Gramercy Tavern and Daniel, spending much of her professional life in Michelin-starred environments. She has also trained under world-renowned chefs, including a transformative apprenticeship with Francis Mallmann on his island in Patagonia. A celebrated figure in her community, Lana was inducted into the prestigious Les Dames d’Escoffier International in 2023 and honored with a Black Women in Food Award by Dine Diaspora. She also participated in the James Beard Foundation’s Chef Boot Camp for Policy and Advocacy, joining a select cohort focused on shaping food systems and equity. In recent years, Chef Lana has been using her voice to spotlight the rich, complex connections between Black foodways, the African diaspora, and American cuisine. Through her pop-up dinners—ranging from refined tasting menus to intimate gatherings—she reimagines what is often labeled “American” food by tracing its origins and cultural lineage. Her work honors the contributions of Black chefs and culinary traditions that have long shaped this country’s food culture. Most recently, Lana launched The Supper Club from Nowhere, a powerful pop-up dinner series hosted at iconic NYC restaurants. The series offers a multi-sensory exploration of Black food, culture, and the lessons of the civil rights movement.
