CHEF ANDREW SARGENT

 

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Chef Andrew Sargent grew up in a household where being cooked for was an act of love. Cooking with his parents as a kid, and later spending hours watching Food Network as a teenager, he developed an obvious inclination for the kitchen. In his early twenties, it was as much the structure and discipline of professional cooking as the craft itself that drew him in.  Chef Andrew worked in Austin and the Dallas-Fort Worth area before landing at the French Room at the Adolphus Hotel in downtown Dallas, then the only Forbes five-star restaurant in Texas. He spent two years there, rising from line cook to junior sous chef, and credits the experience as foundational.

Chef Andrew then made the leap to New York City, joining Café Boulud ultimately as a saucier. He then joined Daniel as a prep cook and rose to sous chef, an experience he describes as his true culinary education. Most recently, Chef Andrew was a sous chef under Thomas Keller at Per Se for three years, perfecting his craft in the kitchen and expanding his skill set to menu writing and running service.

Chef Andrew's cooking is grounded in classical French technique, layered with contemporary American sensibility and the Southern Americana of his Texas upbringing. In 2025, Chef Andrew won the Netflix hit competition series Next Gen Chef. He is currently preparing to open his own restaurant in NYC, targeting a Spring 2027 opening.
